Spring Castration Clinic

Have your stallion gelded free on Saturday, April 2.

Castration provided by Dr. Elise Jones, Stable and Stock Veterinary Services and veterinary staff and students from LMU Vet School. Castration service is free, but registration is required. Your animal must be halter-trained enough to be handled. This clinic will be hosted by Silver Lining Stables in Cottontown, with easy access for horse-trailer parking/turn-around.

Other services outlined below may be performed for a fee if requested.

Please note:  One horse per time slot. Please request multiple time slots if you plan to bring multiple horses so that we can plan accordingly.

If you cannot make your scheduled appointment, please cancel your registration or let us know so that someone can take your spot. We will have a waiting list for this event; if all spots are filled, please sign-up for a spot on the waiting list and we will contact you if an appointment becomes available.

Other day-of services are available and payable to Stable and Stock Veterinary Services. These include:

  • Wolf teeth removal

  • Coggins

  • 5-way vaccination

Be prepared to let the vet know any history on your animal. This is "field surgery" - both testicles must be descended in order to castrate your animal. You will be sent home with after-care instructions.
