Safe Harbor Success Stories: Adopted 2017
Patience (registered name “Wait Your Turn”) is a true black beauty, registered Off Track Standardbred. Patience was lightly raced, then turned broodmare, and then sold to the Amish. None of her foals raced.
She was saved from slaughter and came to Safe Harbor in poor condition. On arrival the first thing we noticed was her rear stifle was swollen to about the size of a watermelon. Patience was ridden through the auction. Full diagnostics of this injury including ultrasound have been completed. It is a honeycomb of scar tissue and joint fluid, but the joint itself is intact. Patience has been cleared for light riding, in pasture at a walk pace.
Patience is in the after the track program with Safe Harbor. Due to her having a limiting injury, her adoption fee is $300. She loves people. She is sweet, docile, and easy to handle.
