Breed: Gaited (Paso or Walker?) mix
Size: 14.2-14.3 hands
Rider level: Intermediate
Gatsby came to us as part of Operation Date Night, a Davidson County neglect case. The horses in this case were hidden on the backside of a hill, kept in ramshackle cages and dog pens. Gatsby deserves a beautiful future; he has endured so much. He has had about 52 days of professional training with Perry Neal. While he has been ridden by an advanced beginner under supervision, Gatsby’s best path would be with an intermediate or better rider who he can bond with to finish his training. Gatsby works well off of leg pressure, is sound and has no limitations. He trots under saddle but does have an intermediate gear that could be refined into a comfortable trail gait. Gatsby can be flighty and will test his boundaries, so he needs a leader he can trust. His only special need is an all-gelding environment due to being gelded later in life.
